(ABC 6 News) - The Owatonna Police Department said it has identified the driver involved in the car verse pedestrian crash thanks to help from the community.

Police said the driver is a 40-year-old from Owatonna and is cooperating with the investigation.

The pedestrian hit in the crash is an 88-year-old woman from Owatonna. Police said she has been released from the hospital and is resting at home.

The Owatonna Police Department is working to identify the driver involved in a car verse pedestrian crash Monday afternoon.

Police said a maroon Ford F-250 or F-350 hit a pedestrian at the intersection of Cedar Avenue South and 18th Street in Owatonna around 3 p.m.

Owatonna police said the driver stopped and met with the pedestrian but left before emergency responders arrived at the scene. 

Police are looking for any information on the vehicle, driver, passengers or additional witnesses. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Owatonna Police Department at 507-451-8232.
