The latest on the flu in Minnesota & Iowa

(ABC 6 News) - According to the latest statistics from the Minnesota Department of Health, the spread of the Influenza in Minnesota is now downgraded to "Regional." However, there were 72 hospitalizations last week which is down from 185 the week before. 

Nearly 4,000 people have been hospitalized with Influenza this season. A total of 135 people have died including 3 children in Minnesota.

In Iowa, the cases remain widespread with 96 people hospitalized last week bringing the total for the season to just over 1,000. The total deaths this season in Iowa have been 61, with 13 of them last week, one being a child.
