(ABC 6 News) - Cancer is something that affects many people, and one woman from St. Charles decided to turn her experience and journey into a book.
Nicole Czarnomski says she has always been an avid writer. Czarnomski said journaling was one way she got through all the difficult appointments and treatment during her breast cancer journey. She decided to turn those journals into a book called "How Cancer Cured My Broken Soul." She felt that putting this book together would help her do what she loves to do the most.
Czarnomski volunteers with the Pink Ribbon Mentors through Mayo Clinic, she started out as a mentee through the program.
"That's just who I am. I want to see people succeed, I want to see the best for people, and I just want to give back. It's kind of selfish. because it makes me feel so good to help others. It's like this guilt thing I have. It's selfish for me, but I want to just keep giving," Czarnomski said.
Czarnomski is hopeful that her book can help others the way journaling did for her.
