(ABC 6 NEWS) - It's that time of year again, Girl Scout cookies are back!
Girl Scouts were able to choose how to sell their cookies for this year. They could sell online, hybrid, or in person. For online selling, the girls each have a website with pricing and cookie information.
For hybrid and in person, it's like normal, but with COVID safety precautions such as masks, social distancing, and contactless payment.
Susan Andersson with Girls Scouts River Valleys said it's heartwarming to see the girls back to selling the cookies people love.
Andersson said, "To see our girls really pivoting and figuring out new and creative ways to reach their customers. Girls have a sense of energy and passion and commitment to the program because they know that they are learning those business skills and entrepreneurial skills that really last a lifetime."
Each Girl Scout troop sets goals for what they want to use their cookie money for, including community engagement programs, or most sold cookie award. There is also a new cookie this year. "It is called the Toast Yay.
So it is a french toast-inspired cookie that has icing on one side and it is fantastic," said Andersson.
One of the newer ones will also be leaving after this year, Andersson said, "The s'mores this will be the last year to get those so we can introduce a new one in 2022."
If you are looking for cookies, the Girl Scouts have a cookie finder here https://www.girlscouts.org/en/cookies/all-about-cookies/How-to-Buy.html#finder as well as through a mobile app.
You can also text 'COOKIES' to 59618 to find cookies near you.
