(ABC 6 News) - The Minnesota primary is next month and the November election is right around the corner, and one local woman is spreading the word about her campaign by literally running for office.
"I am a resident of Elgin. I currently serve as a City Council member in the town of Elgin too. I first ran for House of Representatives in 2016. And I lost that election, but I got written in to City Council," said Democrat Elise Diessiln, who is running for House District 21B.
With door knocking not allowed during this campaign season due to COVID-19, Diessiln had to get creative.
"This running tour kind of came out of that. In something that I enjoy doing anyway, but also can kind of change my perspective in multiple ways. Both seeing the town and spending some time in it and also checking out different running trails and places to go," she said.
Diessiln already has a few runs in the books and said anyone can join her and speak their mind.
