(ABC 6 News) - Court documents were filed yesterday to extradite Lois Riess from Florida to Minnesota to face murder charges against her in Dodge County.
Riess was the subject of a nationwide manhunt in March and April 2018 after allegedly shooting and killing her husband in their Blooming Prairie home then traveling to Florida where she befriended Pamela Hutchinson before shooting and killing her and assuming her identity. Riess was arrested ten days later in Texas.
December 2019 Riess plead guilty in Lee County, Florida court to 1st degree murder with a firearm and other charges and was sentenced to life in prison.
The documents filed Tuesday state Riess shall be brought to trial within 180 days after being extradited to Dodge County where she is facing charges of 1st and 2nd degree murder and theft.
