Two people from Mason City killed in head-on crash Saturday afternoon

FLOYD COUNTY, Iowa. (ABC 6 News) – According to crash reports from the Iowa State Patrol two people from Mason City were killed in a crash Saturday afternoon, two others were hurt.

The ISP said a 2012 Ford Edge driven by Casey Lindahl of Charles City was headed south on Underwood Avenue near 140th St near Colwell Saturday just after 2 p.m. when the car crossed the center line and hit a 2019 Ford Flex head-on.

Lindahl and a 3-year-old in the vehicle were not seriously hurt in the crash. The two people in the Flex were both killed. The driver has been identified as 77-year-old Chris Anderson and the passenger is 76-year-old Anita Anderson.

According to crash reports, all four people were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. The report does not indicate whether alcohol or other substances were involved. The crash remains under investigation.
