(ABC 6 News) — 26 years ago today, KIMT News anchor Jodi Huisentruit went missing. She was abducted in the parking lot of her apartment on her way to work. People are still working hard to find answers about what happened to Jodi.

“This past year we’ve gotten so many tips of I’ve never come forward before, I’ve never said anything before, but I feel like you should know this. After 26 years, how is that still possible?” Scott Fuller, team member for Find Jodi said.

Every day, the Find Jodi team receives tips about Jodi’s case. They look into every tip, with the hope Jodi could be brought home one day.

And now 26 years since she went missing, Scott Fuller says if you know something, say something. You could submit an anonymous tip on FindJodi.com or contact law enforcement.

“We’re hopeful through all of this that someone in Mason City or the surrounding area here in Southern Minnesota, North Iowa can come forward with information that they may or may not think is important at this stage,” Fuller said.

This case is a puzzle, and every day, Scott is trying to figure it out, “You never know what’s going to be that one tip or that one puzzle piece that finally brings resolution to Jodi’s case and for her family and friends,” Fuller said.

And the Find Jodi billboards in town will also be updated with new art and graphics to let people in Mason City know Jodi is still around.

And for Scott, this fight to uncover what happened to Jodi continues, “You know once I got started with this, and once you meet her family, we just met her sister. After you get involved like that, and you see her friends and her family, you can’t stop,” Fuller said.

Last year ABC 6 News spoke to Jodi’s sister, JoAnn Nathe. She hasn’t given up hope in finding her sister, “Please come forward, it’s just been too long. It’s not fair to her, she’s a good kid, we have to find her, we have to find her,” Nathe said.

And Mason City Police Chief Jeff Brinkley agrees, it’s time to bring Jodi home, “Cold cases I think are of interest to a lot of people. It’s obviously a case that affected Mason City and so if we could put some closure to that, I’m interested in doing that,” Chief Brinkley said.

This year, there are no events planned in Mason City to remember Jodi, but there is a campaign called Lights for Jodi.

Scott says turn on a light, make it visible and remind people that Jodi is still out there.

A new Find Jodi billboard will also be going up on North Federal Avenue in the coming months in Mason City.
