(ABC 6 News) - Many small business owners are feeling a large impact due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Tuesday, the Mason City Chamber of Commerce held a special event to address some of their members concerns.

The virtual forum was called 'North Iowa Strong' and featured a panel of experts from across the state to answer questions and address issues facing local businesses.

Tim Putnam, from the NIACC John Papajohn Entrepreneurial Center, advised chamber member businesses not to take on any debt just to pay for debt.
Mason City Administrator, Aaron Burnett, said that although the city provides many essential services, they’re also working on social distancing and getting staff out of the office.
Cerro Gordo Public Health wasn't on the forum but issued a statement saying that employees sent home for showing signs of illness should self-isolate until symptoms have improved and they show no signs of fever for three days without the use of fever reducing medication.
