(ABC 6 News) -- Dancing for the Arts Take VIII wowed audiences Saturday night. Local celebrities -- a fire chief, University of Minnesota Rochester's chancellor, and well-known professionals at Mayo Clinic put on their dancing shoes and glamorous outfits for the evening -- all for a good cause.
Dancing for the Arts is back for the eighth year. ABC 6 News anchor Laura Lee co-emceed the event.
The ten celebrity dancers teamed up with professional dancers from Dahl dance. Each participant had 10 free lessons as part of their training leading up to Saturday night's competition.
In 2018, Dancing for the Arts brought in $127,000. The money went to local recipients through the Greater Rochester Arts and Culture Trust. Organizers say there were 17 grants were given. Through the years, 400,000 students have been impacted.
