Lyle Superintendent, Bryan Boysen, has been an educator for years, but like more than half of the staff at Lyle Public School he's new.

The district had a rash of resignations in August so it was forced to fill some of those slots quickly.

Some teachers were hired as late as yesterday.

“We were doing 5 interviews a day, a whole week at one point," said Boysen.

Michelle Frank is one of the veterans. She's been a teacher at Lyle for 6 years.

“It’s always great to get new ideas and to accept some different changes, so it’s fun, I’m looking forward to it, “said Frank.

Meanwhile, Marie Geschwind is one of the 10 new teachers. She says parents had concerns at first.

"But once we spoke and I reassured them we got it under control and we have our open house tonight so I think meeting everybody will put people at ease," Geschwind.

The superintendent said he understands why parents were concerned, but wants them to know each educator went through a process.

"I don’t want children showing up to school and we don’t have a qualified candidate in there, so we had to vet all of our candidates, we had to screen them, call their references and I truly believe we have the best of the best," said Boysen.

Boysen encourages interested educators to apply for any positions still open.
