(ABC 6 NEWS) - Between mass vaccination clinics and many pharmacies doing COVID-19 vaccinations now, it can be confusing where to go to get your dose. Here is the breakdown.
The Mayo Civic Center is holding its vaccination clinic this Sunday, February 14, where approximately 1,500 Minnesotans over the age of 65 will be vaccinated. For this clinic, you must be invited by the Minnesota Department of Health. Patients who are able to get vaccinated here were on the waitlist from the state lottery. If you are registered and have not been selected yet, you will remain on the lottery list.
The Willow Creek Middle School site started administering second doses yesterday to individuals who had already received their first dose back in January. The site is also through the state's pilot program and serves educators and childcare workers as well.
Walmart and pharmacies started administering vaccines today in Rochester, Austin and Albert Lea. This is through the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program. You are required to schedule an appointment online through Walmart. Appointments will be limited based on quantities allocated by federal and state governments.
If you're over 65 you can also get vaccinated at various Walgreens locations in the area. To sign up for a vaccine, you can schedule your appointment for both doses on the Walgreens website.
Rochester Community Pharmacy was planning on getting its shipment of vaccines today. However, the pharmacy says those vaccines will most likely be arriving on Monday. If you are on the waitlist here, you will be called when those arrive in the order you filled out an application.
