(ABC 6 News) - Next week golfers can help raise money for United Way and Channel One Regional Food Bank through the "Golf Fore Minnesota" event.

The event is a virtual fundraiser running from July 13-19. United Way of Freeborn County Executive Director Erin Haag says the event will be a huge boost for the organization's ability to help people during the pandemic.

T Time Legendary Sports and Golf Events is putting on the event. Golfers can register and make their donations online, or can register in-person at Freeborn County golf courses. Haag says getting help from T Time Sports has been a blessing in a hard time.

"Having somebody who has some expertise and some experience with planning events and being able to combine forces is something that wil benefit all of us was truly a benefit," Haag said.

Those that make a donation and golf at Wedgewood, Gren Lea, Oakview and Clark Grove's golf courses willl have their green fees paid for by Farmer's State Bank as part of a sponsorship.

Golfers can register online to participate in the fundraiser from all over the country.
