(ABC 6 News) – On Sunday, the Minnesota Department of Health reported 7,219 new COVID-19 cases and that 40 more people have died of the new coronavirus in the state.

The number of new cases brings the state's total up to 270,157 on Sunday. 20,298 of those cases are health care workers.

There are now a total of 3,241 people who have died of COVID-19 in Minnesota. 2,214 of those deaths are residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities.
