(ABC 6 News) - Mayo Clinic says things are getting back to normal after the shutdown during the pandemic and it is helping downtown.
The clinic shared the news with the Rochester Downtown Alliance, regarding local business and the pandemic during its meeting Wednesday.
Like most businesses when the pandemic hit, Mayo Clinic also suffered, halting elective care, surgeries, reducing staff and furloughing thousands of employees.
"The warm welcome that this community gives the patients and visitors that come here is phenominal and we aslo know that a strong downtown core is critical to our on going retention and recruitment of our staff people want to have the ammenities of a strong downtown," says Erin Sexton, Director of Enterprise Community Engagement.
Mayo Clinic says it getting back to normal operations, and that a vibrant downtown is critical to not just the clinic, their employees and patients, but to the city of Rochester as a whole to help jump start the economy.
