(ABC 6 News) - In an effort to keep their workers healthy, Mayo Clinic has created a COVID-19 tracking tool to keep tabs on the spread of the virus.
Occupational Medicine Specialist Dr. Laura Breeher says it took two weeks for the program to be created. The idea was to create a system to keep track of which workers came in contact with the virus.
"These tools have allowed us to do what used to take several hours. It now takes less than two hours from the time we identify a COVID-positive test, to assessing any employees that were exposed and taking those that were exposed off work," Breeher said.
The program easily monitors workers, helping Mayo Clinic keep their staff healthy which will help flatten the curve.
Mayo Clinic plans to expand this system to their sites in Arizona and Florida on Wednesday.
