(ABC 6 News) - For some COVID survivors, the battle to fully recover can take weeks or even months.
Thost patients are often considered long haulers, and the usually struggle with things like intense fatigue, dizziness and difficulty concentrating.
But one rehabiliation program at Mayo Clinic works with patients battling post-COVID syndrome.
Dr. Greg Vanichkachorn and his colleagues created a rehabilitation program with the goal of helping these patients return to work.
"Right now unfortunately its to hard to say with any real accuracy how many patients we expect to see with post covid symptoms. There has been a lot of great research out there into this patient population, but all of these research studies have had thier limitations." says Dr. Greg Vanichkachorn, Mayo Clinic Occupational Medicine Specialist.
The program is referred to as CARP - the COVID Activity Rehabilitation Program. Mayo Clinic is currently serving about five dozen patients.
