(ABC 6 News) - Wednesday, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds said that while some states are issuing stay at home orders, she believes many of the steps Iowa has taken up to this point are equivalent.
During her daily COVID-19 update she said she wants Iowa to remain open, but in a way that protects both the health of its people and the economy.
She also said that the Iowa Workforce Development has increased their capacity to process more unemployment claims, and that while the personal protective equipment (PPE) shortage remains an issue, the Iowa National Guard is working to deliver the much-needed supplies across the state.
Wednesday the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) announced 21 new cases, bringing the total of positive COVID-19 cases statewide to 145.
