Iowa reports 38 additional COVID-19 deaths, vaccine numbers continue to rise

(ABC 6 News) - The latest information as of February 22, 2021, on coronavirus in Iowa according to the Iowa Department of Public Health.

COVID-19 Vaccine as of February 22:

  • Total doses administered: 585,961
    • 56,516 more since Friday
  • Series Completed: 146,050, 24.9% of total administered
    • 14,550 more since Friday
  • 4.6% of the estimated total population of Iowa have been fully vaccinated*

  • Individuals with positive COVID-19 test: 359,584
  • Total Deaths: 5,374
    • 38 additional death reported today
  • 39.9%, or 2,144, of deaths, are from long term care facilities  
  • 1,538,605 total people tested
  • 309,569 people have recovered 
  • 21.6% of total individuals tested to date have been reported as positive 
  • 222 patients are in the hospital
    • 54 patients in ICU 
    • 22 admitted in the last 24 hours
  • 21 current outbreaks in long term care facilities
