(ABC 6 News) - The latest information as of April 7, 2021, on coronavirus in Iowa according to the Iowa Department of Public Health.

COVID-19 Vaccine as of April 7: 

  • Total doses administered: 1,674,550
    • 53.1% of the estimated total population of Iowa have begun vaccination series*
  • Series Completed: 675,229
    • 21.4% of the estimated total population of Iowa have been fully vaccinated*

  • Individuals with positive COVID-19 test: 383,337
    • 850 new cases reported today
  • Total Deaths: 5,835
    • 13 additional deaths reported today
  • 39.2%, or 2,282, of deaths, are from long term care facilities  
  • 1,655,063 total people tested
  • 4,531,600 total tests
  • 336,119 people have recovered 
  • 4.8% positive tests in the past 14 days
  • 216 patients are in the hospital
    • 44 patients are in the hospital patients in ICU 
    • 55 admitted in the last 24 hours
  •  2 current outbreaks in long term care facilities
