(ABC 6 News) -- Destination Medical Center announced a plan to help the regional and local economy.
The plan would advance projects such as heart of the city and the discovery walk-which would help the local trades industry.
"These projects have long been planned, design work has been done, and its more important than ever to continue these projects in light of this one because it creates jobs and creates good living wage jobs for people during the construction phase but ultimately it really creates a better place for the rebound of our economy," Patrick Seeb, director of economic development and placemaking for Destination Medical Center said.
Businesses and startups are also on the mind of the DMC as they are also working to strengthen partnerships with the Minnesota department of employment and economic development.
"We will continue to invest in construction projects that will enable plumbers and electricians, and bricklayers and carpenters, welders and ironworkers to continue working during this downturn which of course will be helpful as we begin recovery," Seeb said.
The next step is to have the 2019 DMC private investment figures certified by the state.
