(ABC 6 News) - Leo Coyle has been greeting patients for 13 years and is now giving his final farewell as he heads into a well-deserved retirement.
Coyle says it's time to do something else, which is to relax.
"It's not a chore to come to work every day, it's something you look forward to doing," Coyle says.
He is going to miss seeing patients every day, especially those with who he has formed friendships over the years.
"This isn't JC Penny's. So when they come in here, you try and make them feel as comfortable as you possibly can because you know that they're here to shop," Coyle says.
His job is to make patients feel comfortable when they step foot into the building.
Coyle is well-known in the Austin community.
"It makes me feel good. At least I know I've done my job. It makes me feel good that they have shown the enthusiasm for me that they have, especially today," Coyle says.
It will be a change of pace for Coyle, but his wife will be retiring next year.
"I know I'm going to miss all of them come Monday morning, I'm going to go 'Oh, I'm not going to work, I'm not going to see all of my friends, I'm not going to say good morning to you good morning to you,'" Coyle says.
He will be taking time for himself, staying busy with his nine grandchildren.
"I'm not saying that I won't stop in and say everybody and say hi once in a while," Coyle says. He will not be a stranger.
