(ABC 6 News) - The Austin boys soccer team is gaining national recognition as Head Coach Jens Levisen has been named the National Coach of the Year and senior Henry Tolbert has been named an All-American.

The honors come from United Soccer Coaches. Levisen was named the Coach of the Year for small schools after pushing the team to a 13-0-1 season that saw the Packers score over six goals per game. In a year where the Packers won their fourth straight section and conference titles, the individual awards are still unexpected.

"I never would have dreamed that that it would've even been an option for me as a coach or for one of my players to be an All-American. And to have both of those happen in the same year, it's incredible. It says a lot about what our program did this year but also how our program has grown," Levisen said.

Tolbert adds to his trophy case, as he has already been named Mr. Soccer for Minnesota.

Levisen credits the program's success over the last few years for the honors. The players have put in an endless amount of work during the season and in the offseason. That helped turn the 2020 team into one of the best he has ever coached.

He says if you look at the statistics, it might be the best. That and the fact that three of their captains, Tolbert, goalkeeper Casey Berg and midfielder Andres Garcia, were named First Team All-State make for a convincing argument.
