The National Transportation Safety Board released its preliminary report regarding the Brainerd helicopter crash that included testimony from the paramedic aboard who was injured.
Pilot Tim McDonald and nurse Deb Schott were killed in the crash June 28 at Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport.
According to the report, flight paramedic Josh Duda, who is now in fair condition, told investigators he noticed a "thin fog layer during the approach to landing."
The report goes on to say that McDonald noted the weather conditions were foggy and that they "would need to go around."
Duda told investigators the helicopter then spun to the right and made impact with the ground.
A final report is expected following the investigation.
