Anna and Ashley Mickelson are among the newest residents of Wyoming, Minnesota.
And the newborn twins have two Wyoming police officers to thank for their arrival.
A post to the department's Facebook page said two officers were dispatched on a report of a woman in labor in her home Tuesday morning.
"Called my husband and I said, 'I think I am in labor,' he said, 'Don't be afraid to call the ambulance if you need to,' and I said OK," said Nichole Mickelson, mother of newborn twins.
When the first officer approached the home, the front door was locked and there was no other way to enter the house.

The post said the officer kicked the door open and found the mother had just given birth to a baby girl. The newborn was in the mother's arms, but not breathing. The officer performed CPR on the baby, clearing the airway and performing mouth-to-mouth resuscitation until the infant began breathing on its own.
"I wasn't panicking. I mean, even though she wasn't breathing, I don't know, it seemed so much like a dream," Mickelson said.
As CPR was being performed, the post said the mother announced a second baby was coming. With the first baby now breathing on her own, the officers turned their attention to delivering the second child.
"It's always an intimidating thing being thrown into that situation, so when they came up I just have this mental image of their faces, I know they were probably quite nervous but they did awesome, and everything turned out great in the end," Mickelson said.
"As a Chief, you want to make sure you give your staff the necessary training to do their job, and you hope they recall that training when the need arises," Wyoming Police Chief Paul Hoppe wrote in the post.
"On this day, these two officers performed flawlessly, professionally, without hesitation, with care and compassion to the family. I am pleased to introduce Anna and Ashley Mickelson to our community, and honor Officer (Matt) Paavola, and (Scott) Boecker (whose) actions saved a life and kept this family's experience a joyful moment. The Mickelson family have one heck of a story they will probably carry with them for a lifetime."
