(KSTP) – The Minnesota Vikings seem to be keeping one of last year’s starting cornerbacks.
Patrick Peterson announced on the “All Things Covered” podcast Wednesday that he is re-signing with the Vikings.
Peterson, 31, played for Minnesota last season after spending his first 10 years in Arizona. Injuries limited him to 13 games last year, and he recorded 44 tackles, five passes defended and one interception, which he returned for a touchdown. In his 167 career games, he’s tallied 531 tackles, 96 passes defended and 29 interceptions.
While the team hasn’t announced his re-signing, Peterson’s return would give the Vikings a trusted veteran in a group of defensive backs that has struggled.
The team has focused heavily on its defense during free agency, adding defensive lineman Harrison Phillips, linebacker Jordan Hicks, edge rusher Za’Darius Smith, cornerback Chandon Sullivan, as well as cornerback Nate Hairston.
He’s BACK!
