Diversity Council offers Human Book training
(ABC 6 News) – The Diversity Council is partnering with the city of Rochester for what they call Human Book training.
A human book is someone with experience or extensive knowledge on a certain topic and people in the community can go and hear their story or ask them questions about their life.
"You get to skip the friendship stage and get at, you know, who is this person? How have their lived experiences shaped who they are? And get to learn someone who may seem so different, but in reality, when we learn about those differences, we learn about what unites us as human beings," said Education and Equity program specialist Rebecca Minkus.
If you’re interested in becoming a human book, the library is holding a training session Wednesday.
