(ABC 6 News) – The Rochester City council discussed the possibility of offering vaccine incentives to city employees Monday evening.
The city says there are currently 280 unvaccinated city employees, out of 898 employees total.
The council is considering using approximately $300,000 in funding from the American Rescue Plan Act to offer $330 per full-time worker; less for part-time/seasonal to get vaccinated.
The council decided to table the issue to look into more information and whether an incentive would change people’s minds.
The council will address the incentive again at their next meeting in two weeks.
