Bystanders put out man on fire Thursday morning
(ABC 6 News) – A man reportedly set himself on fire in the parking lot of the Olmsted County Public Health building around 9:47 a.m. Thursday, April 21.
Lt. Frank Ohm of Rochester Police said the fire was extinguished by the time emergency responders reached the scene.
Ohm said the victim suffered burns, and the fire appeared to be self-inflicted. He was transported to a hospital by Mayo Clinic first responders.
Benjamin Davis with the Rochester Fire Department said RFD assisted with patient care and moved him to the ambulance for transport to St. Marys. Neither law enforcement agency knew the status of the man’s injuries.
