(6) Mayo softball ends (7) Century, 4-1 in Section 1AAAA eliminator

(ABC 6 News) — A crosstown rivalry was renewed as Century softball faced Mayo in an elimination game during the Section 1AAAA tournament Thursday.

The game was tied 1-1 in the fifth inning before Mayo’s Alexa Carlstrom base hit to center field and sent two runners home. Now with a 3-1 lead, the Spartans’ Hailey Lammers
added onto the damage with a center field single, bringing Carlstrom home for a 4-1 lead.

Despite Century’s Morgan Erickson getting a strikeout to end the inning, the damage was already done, Mayo won 4-1 to end the Panthers’ season.
