2022 Section 1A Baseball Second Round Results at Riverland Community College

(ABC 6 News) — It’s the time of the year in Minnesota’s baseball season where games matter just a little bit more. The quest to reach the Twin Cities continued with section tournament action Saturday.

For the Section 1A tournament, Riverland Community College in Austin was the site of four second-round games.

Top-seeded Hayfield totaled 17 hits en route to a dominant 20-4 victory over #9 Fillmore Central Lanesboro.

#4 Kenyon-Wanamingo beat #5 Rushford-Peterson 4-3 on a walk-off single with the bases loaded in the eighth inning.

#2 Lyle-Pacelli rallied from a 5-1 deficit in the fourth inning to beat #10 Wabasha-Kellogg 10-7.

#6 United South Central outlasted #3 Southland 6-5 in a "battle of the Rebels".
