(ABC 6 News) - April is National Donate Life Month, a time for Americans to celebrate the generosity of those who saved other's lives by becoming organ donors.

Last August, Madison "Maddie" Mann was in an ATV accident. She was 12 years old.

"Unfortunately, we weren't able to get the miracle that we had hoped for. But Maddie was able to help four people with their miracles through organ donation," Mindy Toenges, Maddie's mother said.

Maddie was able to donate four of her organs to people across the country.

"One went to someone who lived in South Dakota, a 68-year-old male got her left kidney. There was a 41-year-old female in Minnesota who got her right kidney. A 30-year-old woman in North Carolina and a 3-year-old little girl in Minnesota got her liver," Toenges said.

Unfortunately, Maddie didn't survive the accident, but she gave a gift to four others so they could live.

"This is what we felt like Maddie would've wanted. So, we all decided this would've been one of the best gifts Maddie could've ever given," Tim Mann, Maddie's father said.

Maddie's younger sister, Brooklyn, said Maddie did amazing things in life and this is one of them.

"Walk of Remembrance" was held today by Mayo Clinic and LifeSource where they virtually honored organ, eye, and tissue donors. They unveiled the "Wall of Heroes," which includes pictures of Maddie.
