Albert Lea police investigating drive-by shooting

(ABC 6 News) -- An Albert Lea man was arrested Thursday afternoon after police said he fired a gun at a man and then took off. 

It happened around 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, August 6 on the 900 block of Front St. W in Albert Lea.

According to the Albert Lea police department, a 43-year-old Albert Lea man told them that 29-year-old Anthony Barela, also of Albert Lea, had stopped his car and shot at him. The victim was not hurt and told police he and Barela are acquaintances. 

Officers said they found Barela's vehicle, with a small caliber revolver inside of it, at Barela's home. He was arrested and taken to the Freeborn County Adult Detention Center. 

Barela is facing charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, drive-by shooting, and possession of a firearm by an ineligible person.
