(ABC 6 News) - The Freeborn County Sheriff's Office said an Albert Lea man was taken into custody after leading a deputy on a chase in a stolen vehicle early Wednesday morning.

The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle for driving with no lights just before 2:30 a.m. The deputy said the driver refused to stop and a short pursuit began.

The sheriff's office said the pursuit ended when the driver lost control of the vehicle on Neal Street and drove through a barb wire fence and got stuck in the snow.

The driver, 38-year-old Brandon Johnson was then taken into custody. The sheriff's office said the vehicle had recently been stolen from Virgil's Tow and Travel in Albert Lea.

Johnson is facing possible charges of fleeing in a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property and criminal damage to property.
