People ask me all the time, “where are you from?”.  The answer to that is simple. I was born and raised in Green Bay, but I have worked in many places from coast to coast.  Each place taught me something about myself and this great country.
My last stop was Palm Springs, California where my wife and I had our first visit back in 1981.  It was our honeymoon and we have been going back there ever since.

I have been lucky enough in this profession to work in markets from Green Bay to New York City.  I have made stops in Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Louisville, Las Vegas, back to Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, San Diego and then Palm Springs.

I have reported, shot video, anchored newscasts.  I have owned stations.  I have managed newsrooms.  I consider myself lucky I had this wealth of experience.  I had the chance to interview presidents and felons.  I got the first interview with O.J. Simpson after his acquittal on murder charges.  I have interviewed the Pope.  I have also interviewed a gang member sentenced to death and living on death row at San Quentin Prison.  Being on the anchor desk at MSNBC right after the 9-11 terror attack was a sobering experience.  So was anchoring “live” coverage of the Rodney King riots in Los Angeles in the 1990’s.  I was fortunate to win an Emmy for our coverage of that terrible few days in the city.  I have covered wildfires and mudslides.  I have stood outside in blizzards and heatwaves.  Covering political conventions is always fun.  I was there when Ronald Reagan got the nomination and I was there when Donald Trump was chosen.  The Northridge earthquake shook our lives and our house in California.  I was on-the-air for 22 hours straight after the quake, helping viewers try to put their lives back together.

I am here now and excited about the next chapter of my career and my life.  I am back in the Midwest where I was born and raised.  My wife Linda is looking forward to finding a way to express her passion for helping children and interior design.
We have two girls and both are living their own lives.  One in Kentucky and the other in Florida.  They are both successful and we are proud.

I love golfing and will take any opportunity to tee it up.  I also love photography and walking.  I can walk for miles and get lost in the scenery.

I am sure we are not alone when it comes to wishing winter would come and go quickly, but winters here can be beautiful and I will cherish those days.

Each place we have lived has made us smarter, and more appreciative and our surroundings and the people we meet.  I know southern Minnesota will be no different.  I will see you very early each weekday morning.
