Mild Start To The Week, Frosty Returns By Week's End

Monday and Tuesday will be very mild and sunny, with highs in the 40s Monday & upper 30s Tuesday. The system of concern will be brewing in Colorado on Wednesday, heading our way. We will be in the dry sector of the low pressure system Wednesday afternoon, into Thursday morning. Here's how the forecast sits, as of the model runs today...

A few flurries will be possible early Thursday morning, but really the bulk of the precipitation will fall the second half of the day. A light mix will be possible early Thursday afternoon, especially south of I-90, with everyone seeing snow by the evening. Accumulating snow looks likely Thursday night, and especially Friday, as the heavier bands move through. The snow looks to finally wrap up Saturday.

So, how much will we see? Pinpointing snowfall potential totals at this point is out of the question, as the system is still 4-5 days out, and not even developed at this point. What looks certain though, and what I want you to walk away with is accumulating snow does look likely for our area, enough to give us an official White Christmas. Also to note, the wind. It will be very strong as the snow is falling, meaning travel looks to be impacted Thursday night, Friday, and possibly into Saturday.

As I've been saying the past 2 days now, this is a storm worth paying VERY CLOSE attention to, as it is targeting our area just before the holiday weekend. Be sure to keep it on ABC 6 News on air & online for the latest forecasts on this system...
