(ABC 6 NEWS) - After leading the RCTC Yellowjackets defense the past two seasons, sophomore linebacker Brandon Perce is moving on from the junior college football to the Division 1 level of college football next year.
Perce announced on twitter on Sunday he's committed to play football at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. This past season, the Falcons finished 2-10 overall.
Despite the 2-10 record, Perce posted on Twitter on Sunday that he's "proud" to commit to the Falcons' program, and he's "ready to get to work."
Perce also had three other Division 1 offers including Marshall University, Eastern Michigan, and the University of North Dakota, but Bowling Green State University was his top choice because he felt it was the best choice.
“The relationship I had with the coaching staff was better than any other school recruiting me, and I loved everything they had to offer on my official this weekend,” Perce said. “I kind of knew all along that Bowling Green was going to be the best option for me.”
In 2017, Perce was one of the leading tacklers in all of NJCAA football, averaging 14.5 total tackles per game. Perce also racked up 4.5 sacks for the 6-3 Yellowjackets.
