(ABC 6 News) — The St. Ansgar Saints know any Friday night is a great night for baseball.

And it was on Friday that the West Fork Warhawks visited the Saints, the fans not having to wait long for the bats to bring the heat.

St. Ansgar’s Carson Sparrow had the game’s first RBI, a crack shot to left center field landing safely for Regan Witt to come home. Max Beland later grounded one to right, cooking up a 2-RBI single to make it 3-0, St. Ansgar.

As the deficit grew, Jayce Schwiesow chopped to left sending one run as the throw to first was off, allowing Schwiesow to take second base off a 2-RBI double. The score now up to 7-0 in favor of the St. Ansgar as the bottom of the first still wasn’t finished.

The Saints eventually stuck a fork in West Fork, the Warhawks taken out in 6 innings, 11-1.
