(Rochester, Minn.) – The Rochester Honkers have announced that Logan Fleener, an assistant coach at Roosevelt University in Chicago Ill.  has been named their third coach for the 2018 season.  He will join the coaching staff of Field Manager Thomas Walker, and Pitching Coach Josh Frye this summer.

Fleener has been the team’s Student Assistant Coach since 2017, working primarily on developing the infielders and hitters, as well as coordinating the running game.  He is also responsible for scouting their opponents.  Fleener will also graduate from Roosevelt University in May with a BSBA in Management.

“I can’t thank Field Manager Thomas Walker and the entire Honkers organization for giving me a chance this summer,” said Fleener.  “I promise to bring a passion to win every day, all the way into the post season and beyond!”

Last summer Fleener served as a showcase advisor and area scout for Prep Baseball Report in Nashville, Tenn. in charge of grading player performances.  In the summers of 2015-2017 he also served as the Tournament Director for Game 7 Tennessee in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

Fleener served as a Team Captain on the Roosevelt University baseball team and was a First Team All-Conference shortstop in 2016. He was a member of the Muskegon Clippers of the Great Lakes Collegiate Summer League in 2016. Fleener was a four-time letter winner at Blackman High School in Murfreesboro, Tenn., a two-time All-Conference selection, and won the leadership award in 2012.
