MINNEAPOLIS - Gopher Hockey All-American alum and former captain Ryan Stoa has been named to the 2018 U.S. Olympic Men’s Team. 

Minnesota Hockey has sent a representative (player or staff) to every Winter Olympics since 1936.

Stoa skated in 120 career games for the Maroon & Gold, accumulating 97 points (47 goals, 50 assists) from 2005-2009. Stoa led the Gophers in scoring during the 2008-09 season. 

Stoa currently skates with Spartak Moskva in the KHL and was named a 2017 KHL All-Star. He previously played 40 regular-season NHL games with the Colorado Avalanche and the Washington Capitals.
