(ABC 6 News) - Following a 4-22 season on the volleyball court, Austin High School has hired a new head volleyball coach.

The high school announced via a press release that they've hired Lauren Cost as the school's next head volleyball coach. In 2015 and 2016, Cost served in the same position for the Lyle/Pacelli program. She'll be replacing Cindy Owen as the head volleyball coach.

Cost has plenty of volleyball experience--in college, she played volleyball at Kansas State University, where she was the 2003 Big 12 Player of the Year and a first-team All-American.

" Austin High School is fortunate to hire Coach Cost to lead our volleyball program," Austin Activities Director Lisa Quednow said via a press release. "She brings head coaching experience, as well as an outstanding background in volleyball fundamentals!"
