(KSTP) -- Sen. Al Franken issued a statement Thursday after two more sexual harassment allegations were made against him.

Two more women stepped forward anonymously with accusations Wednesday night in a Huffington Post story, alleging the Senator touched their buttocks. One alleged he suggested joining her in the restroom, a claim Franken said was false.

On Monday, the senator was also accused of putting his hands on a woman's buttocks while the two were posing for a photo at the Minnesota State Fair.

"I've met tens of thousands of people and taken thousands of photographs, often in crowded and chaotic situations," he said in a statement. "I'm a warm person; I hug people. I've learned from recent stories that in some of those encounters, I crossed a line for some women -- and I know that any number is too many."

Franken said he recognizes he needs to be, "more careful and sensitive in these situations." The senator also issued an apology to any women he made feel uncomfortable in such situations.

In his statement, Franken again said he hopes to regain the trust of his constituents.

"And let me say again to Minnesotans that I'm sorry for putting them through this and I'm committed to regaining their trust," he said.
