(ABC 6 News) -- Freeborn County authorities reported on Saturday that a woman is in jail after leading them on a high-speed chase with speeds reaching up to 90  miles per hour.

They said, deputies, attempted to stop a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am on State Line Road and Hwy 69 in Emmons.  The vehicle failed to stop and accelerated and continued west on State Line Road.  The vehicle failed to stop for the stop sign at State Line Road and IA – 180th Ave.  The pursuit entered Faribault County on County Road 50 and then north onto Hwy 22.  The pursuit went through Kiester and then hit two sets of stop sticks that officers had deployed on Hwy 22 just south of County Road 46.  After 3 of 4 vehicle tires deflated the vehicle came to a stop and the female driver was taken into custody.  During the pursuit, deputies were notified that the registered owner had a felony warrant out of Iowa.

The driver Melissa Lynn Sims, 44 years of age from Eldon IA was arrested on her warrant and also has been charged with Felony Fleeing in a Motor Vehicle, Gross Misdemeanor 2nd degree DWI, Gross Misdemeanor 2nd degree DWI test refusal, open bottle in a motor vehicle and speed.   

Assisting agencies were the Albert Police Department, MN State Patrol, Faribault County Sheriff’s Office, Wells Police Department and the Lake Mills Police Department.
