(ABC 6 News) -- A Rochester non-profit helping high-risk teens is asking for community support.
The Von Wald Group Home supports area youth who experience violence or other trauma at home. Each day, more than a dozen teens rely on the group home for assistance.
With a remodel in the works, the home is hoping to raise money to grow its program.
"We're at high demand and at times of the year, there is a really long wait to get into our program. If we don't have a bed, the next step is a secure juvenile detention for some of these kids," said Laura John, program manager.
A fundraiser is being held Friday, March 23 at Brothers Bar and Grill from 4 p.m. - 10: 30 p.m. There will be live music, a silent auction and a raffle. For more information, click here (opens in facebook).
