Thursday Morning Travel Conditions

January 11, 2018 07:55 AM

(ABC 6 News) -- Roads are getting slick as snow and ice continue to build up.

ABC 6 News Reporter Dan Conradt and Photographer Brian Wise traveled along Interstate 90 in Austin in the morning hours of Thursday, January 11.  Between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m., they reported drizzle that turned to sleet and then blowing snow, but no accumulation.

Travel is possible, but caution is urged as the day goes on, says Meteorologist Cindy Morgan.  Morgan says we’ll see a significant drop in temperatures and be near 8 degrees by 5 p.m. in parts of our region.  Ice and snow are also concerning, says Morgan, with up to 3 inches of new snow by this evening.
