Sanneman tells ABC 6 News that as she was leaving to pick up Mia in Buffalo, MN she received a phone call at Essence Clinic from a woman asking if the dog had been found.  According to Sanneman, the person asked if they were going to prosecute and said they did not know how many days Mia had been running around so they took her.

Sanneman said she and her husband met a man at a restaurant in Buffalo where he handed off Mia and left. He told her his son saw the news and called him, and that he kept repeating he was not a dog stealer, according to Sanneman.
