(ABC 6 News) -- A rural Stewartville man was arrested Thursday after the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office says he violated an Order for Protection.

Olmsted County Sheriff's Captain Scott Behrns said they got a call from a woman saying a man was at her house and pounding on the door. The woman had an Order for Protection (OFP) against the suspect, and she told authorities he had a machete with him.

It happened around 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, October 19th. The suspect allegedly told the woman she had "five minutes to get out of the house."

When the woman was on the phone with authorities, she said the man left the house. While responding to the call, a deputy found him leaving the scene on the 800 block of 6th St. SW in Stewartville.

The suspect, identified by Captain Behrns as 36-year-old Michael Kochen, allegedly told deputies he "didn't think the OFP was valid."

When asked about the machete, the suspect allegedly told authorities he had it because he was "cutting a weed in the driveway."

Kochen is now facing a charge of violating an order for protection with a dangerous weapon, and a misdemeanor domestic assault with fear charge.
