Stewartville Man Accused of Molesting 4-year-old Girl Back in MN

(ABC 6 News) -- A Stewartville man who allegedly molested a 4-year-old girl is now in custody at the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center.

According to Olmsted County Sheriff Sergeant Kirby Long, authorities have been working to get 24-year-old Majed Ijong back to Minnesota from California for the past 3 weeks.

Ijong is expected to make his first court appearance and have bail set today.

Police in California arrested a Stewartville man who allegedly molested a 4-year-old girl, according to Olmsted County Sheriff Sergeant Kirby Long. 

According to Sgt. Long, the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office contacted U.S. Marshals to help find 24-year-old Majed Ijong because they had gotten word that he fled the state. 

About a week or two ago, Sgt. Long said the office got word that Ijong was in Las Vegas with the mother of the child who is the alleged victim in the case. 

Then, on Saturday, November 25, the U.S. Marshals got information that Ijong was in Pacific Grove, CA. They contacted police in Pacific Grove, who arrested Ijong. He was found in a vehicle near a strip mall. 

Authorities are currently going through the extradition process to get Ijong back to Olmsted County to face his charges.

Sheriff's deputies were called to a home in Stewartville on October 13. According to court documents, a woman at the home told authorities that her four-year-old daughter said Ijong had "put his privates in her mouth." Ijong also allegedly touched the girl inappropriately with his tongue and his hands. 

Ijong is wanted on 2 counts of First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct with a person under 13 and 2 counts of Second Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct with a victim under 13.
