(ABC 6 News) - Hundreds of veterans are being honored by having their names displayed at Soldiers Field Veterans Memorial in Rochester.
More than 250 pavers are being installed this week.
People from all over the country buy the pavers for their loved ones who have served in our military.
The pavers were supposed to be installed a few months ago, however, some unresolved design issues put that on hold until now.
Lonnie Hebl, with the Soldiers Field Veterans Memorial Committee, says the committee can now fulfill its goal of installing the pavers before it was too late for some people to see them.
"Honoring our veterans, they're the most important thing we have in the country. So our veterans are the reason why we can come down here and lay pavers, why we can go on vacation, why we can celebrate holidays," said Hebl. "We owe it to our veterans to make sure that, that we cover them. They deserve that and they deserve no less than that”.
Hebl also says they plan to add more pavers in the future.
The current installation is expected to be finished by Friday.
