Showcasing Young Entrepreneurs in Rochester

(ABC 6 News) -- All week long, events in Rochester are showcasing entrepreneurship in Rochester.   The focus of an event Thursday night was on young adults.

Students from several area high schools and colleges showed off their business ideas, ranging from a safe-driving app to a medical writing and editing service.

Mayo High School students Matthew Mikell and Siham Abdi are the force behind Project YOU, a community-based project giving kids a platform to share their stories and become more confident.

"We have like 7 people up so far, they have talked about different things from mental health to their passion for music, and it's really gotten people to open up about themselves and feel more comfortable about it," they said.

Organizers put on the event to connect young entrepreneurs with others and get feedback.
